Dr.Christine Grimaldi
Science, Compassion, and a Lifelong Commitment to Neurodiversity
Dr. Christine Grimaldi is a leading voice in neuroscience and positive psychology whose work centers on understanding and celebrating neurodivergent minds. As a neuroscientist, she investigates the neurological foundations of neurodivergence. As a positive psychologist, she focuses on identifying and nurturing the strengths, talents, and well-being of autistic individuals.
Her perspective developed through years of direct experience. While working with autistic individuals and their families, she saw common deficit-based assumptions repeatedly challenged by real lives filled with intelligence, humor, creativity, persistence, and unique forms of problem-solving. These experiences inspired her to advocate for an approach that provides necessary support without allowing a diagnosis to define the whole person.
Dr. Grimaldi founded Autisticana, a neurodivergent news media outlet created to showcase the voices, work, and abilities of young autistic individuals. Under her guidance, its team members have written news stories, maintained journals, explored their interests, and published books for both children and adults.
Through Amazing Autism: Unleashing the Extraordinary, Dr. Grimaldi brings together scientific understanding, practical strategies, and an enduring belief in human potential. Her mission is to help autistic individuals thrive while encouraging families, professionals, schools, workplaces, and communities to make genuine room for different ways of thinking, communicating, and contributing.
